Wonder if you got the best price on your Alaska airfare?

Refare is an automated airfare price monitoring and refund service that tracks booked flights and negotiates refunds or credits if prices drop after booking.

After a traveler submits their booking, Refare continuously monitors flight prices. If the fare drops and airline rules allow, Refare contacts the airline to secure a refund or credit on the traveler’s behalf.

Yes. Refare operates as a post-booking airfare monitoring and negotiation service and only earns revenue when a traveler successfully receives a refund or credit.

Refare is free to use! No savings, no fee – it's that simple! We take a 25% commission from the savings we secure for you. For example, if the airfare you purchased was $500 and we negotiated down to $300, the $200 savings appears as a credit in your airlines frequent flyer account. We charge $50 (25% of $200) as our service fee to your credit card. More details at www.refare.com/savings

We negotiate on your behalf with the airline on your existing tickets. We only represent you to the airlines once you have purchased your tickets. We monitor prices constantly, and if the price drops below what you paid we instantly start negotiating with the airline to get you the lower price that is currently being offered. If we are successful in getting your airfare for cheaper, you will automatically receive an eCredit in your frequent flyer account for the difference that you can redeem toward future travel.

Unfortunately, Basic Economy fares are not eligible for Refare's price-drop monitoring and negotiation service. Here's why: Airlines removed change fees for Main Cabin and above after the pandemic, but Basic Economy tickets still come with strict restrictions — they typically can't be changed, rebooked, or re-priced once purchased. Since our AI negotiates by re-pricing your existing booking with the airline, Basic Economy fares simply don't give us the flexibility to make that happen. Here's what we can help with:Main Cabin / Economy+ (or equivalent) — these are our bread and butter, with average savings of $218 per itineraryPremium cabins — business, first class, and premium economy on supported carriersAny fare class that allows changes on American, Delta, United, Alaska, Emirates, KLM, Lufthansa, Finnair, and Southwest (non-Basic)Quick tip: If you booked Basic Economy but want to save on future trips, just look for Main Cabin or equivalent when booking. Forward that confirmation to flights@refare.com, and we'll watch for price drops automatically — no credit card required.

Getting started with Refare is easy and free! Here's how: 1. Sign up at www.refare.com/get-started. 2. Share your booking details. 3. Let our AI do the work: Refare’s smart system will track prices and secure refunds for you. 4. Enjoy your savings: Relax and travel knowing you’ve snagged the best price possible. And remember, if you don’t save, you don’t pay!

In 2025, we had a 98% success rate negotiating lower fares with an average savings of $218 per ticket. About 33% of all submitted itineraries were eligible for savings. While success isn't guaranteed in every case, our proven track record highlights significant savings for our customers.

When our system spots a price drop, we instantly negotiate with the airline to secure the lowest fare for you. Once successful, you'll be notified, and the refund will be credited to your frequent flyer account or, in some cases, back to your original payment method—all without any hassle.

Our negotiation team needs only the relevant information that is required by the airline to negotiate a lower airfare. This information may include: Passenger name Email address Airline Dates and cities of travel Flight numbers Frequent Flyer number Confirmation number Date of Birth Total cost If information is submitted incorrectly or not included it will delay our ability to negotiate on your behalf with the airline.

Most airlines refund the credit to your frequent flyer account within 24 hours. This credit can be used for future air travel, and restrictions apply, according to each airline's terms and conditions. We have seen some airlines take up to 7 business days to refund your airfare credit.

Yes! You can manage multiple bookings with Refare. Our system is designed to handle multiple flights and itineraries, ensuring you save money on every travel plan.

Create an account by signing up at the top of the website. Once logged in, any itineraries submitted will display here along with the status of the negotiations and how much you've saved.

We make every effort to keep your fare class and seats exactly as you booked them. We never change your fare class, and our process is designed to lower only the price you paid while leaving everything else untouched. That said, we can't guarantee your seats will never change. In rare cases an airline's own systems may reassign seats during a repricing. And on airlines that require canceling and rebooking to capture a lower fare, such as Alaska, the new reservation means seats must be re-selected and your originals may no longer be available. After any price adjustment, please log into your frequent flyer account and confirm your seats are still the ones you chose. If anything looks different, contact your airline directly to resolve it, and let us know as well. For Alaska: since October 2026, Alaska requires canceling and rebooking to capture a lower fare, which creates a new confirmation number. We alert you to the drop and guide you through the rebook.

It depends. Some airlines view these partners as the booking source and may restrict our ability to negotiate on your behalf. While we do attempt to negotiate such tickets, our success rates are generally lower in these cases.

Refare currently doesn't support tickets purchased with points or miles, as most airlines don't allow credits for such bookings. Our service is focused on helping you save money on airfare paid with cash.

No. Refare only charges a success fee after securing a refund or credit, making it a performance-based service.

Unlike price alerts, Refare not only monitors fares but also takes action by negotiating with airlines to secure refunds or credits automatically.

Alaska ended its policy of issuing credits for fare drops on existing tickets. To get a lower fare now, travelers must cancel their booking, receive an Alaska Wallet credit, and rebook. Note that Wallet credits can't be used for Companion Fare tickets or seat upgrades, and rebooking can mean losing your selected seats.
